Blessings in a Backpack continues to provide the children in Green Local Schools with meals every weekend. Donations are always appreciated and useful. We are expecting to feed approximately 175 children this school year. All these children are considered at high risk of hunger. The items listed below are always needed: individual applesauce, hearty soups, pastas in a can (spaghetti-O's), ramen noodles, oatmeal, mac and cheese, and canned vegetables. Please bring the donated items to the Gathering Space in the back of the church. Place them in the cupboard marked “Blessings In A Backpack.” To get involved or for more information please contact Jennifer at [email protected].
Note: We also need help packing the backpacks each month. We will be packing in the pantry garage at the Green Intermediate School. If interested in helping, we begin at 9:00 a.m. The tentative packing dates are once a month on Thursdays: September 19, October 10, November 7, December 5.
