This spiritual journey of inquiry continues from the fall until Easter Saturday evening, when the catechumens and candidates are welcomed into the Catholic Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.
Join Fr. Damian Ference, vicar for evangelization, at one of the Jubilee sacred sites for a reflection on Bishop Malesic’s pastoral letter, A Flourishing Apostolic Church, and how it connects to the Jubilee Year of Hope and the Eucharistic Revival. You can obtain a plenary indulgence by making a pilgrimage to one of our Sacred Jubilee Sites and fulfilling the other typical conditions.
The Rosary Makers make rosaries at the church and at home. We then package them church. We pray and fellowship as a group. We have made 169,000 rosaries since 2002. Meetings are Tuesdays, 9 a.m. in Church Bride's Room (after the 8:30 a.m. Mass) Email [email protected] if you are interested in joining the group.
Like to sew? We are folks who get together monthly at Queen of Heaven to sew, socialize, and plan and make projects for groups and people within our community. Please join us if you would like be a part of a fun group with a purpose. All skill levels are welcome: sewing, ironing, cutting, planning. But most of all, we welcome YOU! Labre is an outreach ministry that prepares food and distributes it to the needy. We meet every Thursday of the year (except Thanksgiving), at 11 a.m. in the Parish Life Center for food preparation, and then at 4:30 p.m. we depart for Akron to the Visitation of Mary Church for food distribution. The praesidium members will be under the direction of Pastor Reverend David Durkee. Those wishing to join the Legion of Mary must apply for membership. Members must perform a weekly work obligation of at least two hours and meet weekly for prayer and spiritual formation to receive assignments and other matters. There is a three-month probationary period which allows for participating fully before enrollment. New members will go out two by two performing spiritual works of mercy by visiting newly registered parishioners, the newly baptized, the homebound, the hospitalized, those in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, the recently bereaved and many other works too. Meetings are on Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm in the Regina Caeli Center.
Please join Queen of Heaven Parish community for First Friday Devotion and an Avila Holy Hour for Vocations with Exposition, guided prayers & Benediction every First Friday of the month (after the 8:30 a.m. Mass). 9:00-10:00 a.m. If the First Friday falls on a holy day, then it will be moved to the 2nd Friday of the month. All are encouraged to come pray for vocations.
