Welcome... To the Music Ministry web page. We are the Adult Choir for Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, located in Green, Ohio (and part of the Diocese of Cleveland). The Adult Choir provides a mixture of traditional and contemporary worship music at Sunday's 11:00 AM Mass, as well as at special liturgies and Holy Days. With twenty five plus singers and two accompanists, the Adult Choir's mission is to add to the worship experience here at Queen of Heaven Church.
Additional Information... About us: The Adult Choir is directed by Matthew Andreski. Matt has been formally trained in organ recital at the University of Akron and has led the choir since 2005. Matt is an accomplished keyboardist, and plays both organ and electronic piano for the choir. John Noack is the guitarist for the Adult Choir, playing classical and 12-string instruments (and the occasional mandolin part). John has been with various Queen of Heaven choirs since 1995 and has 38 years of music liturgy experience. The choir consists of soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices. Several choir members also serve as cantors, leading the congregation in song during Mass. Meet the Choir...
John Noack should be a familiar face to many Queen Of Heaven parishioners, having started playing guitar here in 1995. Originally joining the "Heaven Sent" group that played at the Saturday evening Vigil Mass, John soon branched out into other music ministries here, including the Adult Choir and the SentForth band that plays at Sunday evening's LifeTeen Mass. John has played in various church choirs for 38 years, starting as a teen on Long Island, later in Georgia, and now here. "Music is prayer for me" says John. "When people come up to me after Mass and tell me that a particular song we led moved them to a stronger worship experience, I feel like we are doing what we were put here to do". John plays a Takamine 12 string acoustic guitar as his primary instrument, but can be found on classical guitar, electric rhythm and lead, dabbles in mandolin, and some percussion. (By popular vote amongst his fellow choir members, he abandoned the banjo...). Having moved from Green to Cuyahoga Falls last year to be closer to his son, Tyler, who lives with his mother in Stow, John isn't doing 4 Masses here each weekend, but still considers Queen of Heaven as home and members of the choir and band to be his extended family. |
Liturgical Music
List Join Us! The Adult Choir actively encourages parishioners who feel called to worship through song to consider joining us! No formal musical training is required. The Choir sings at the 11:00 AM Sunday Mass* and practices in the church on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM (approximately).
